Syrtis Solutions

Today's post is about my father, or rather, exactly what he engages in. His name is Steve Konsin. Steve, a certified pharmacist, has maintained governing leadership offices at several fortune 500 companies and operational management posts in leading retail and mail service pharmacies, pharmacy benefit managers, and specialty pharmacy companies. He has spent his career devoted to the business of pharmacy, which includes expertise in management of operations, infotech, clinical programs, account management, marketing, sales support, reporting, network administration, specialty and mail service delivery, customer service, formulary construction, and discount administration.

In addition to being an extremely successful leader, Steve is an entrepreneur. Realizing the necessity for more efficiency in the healthcare system to minimize costs, Steve and various other associates formed Syrtis Solutions; more importantly, ProTPL - a real-time point of sale cost avoidance service.

The capability to garner "real-time" insurance coverage information at the pharmacy or point of sale was no easy accomplishment. The product is composed of an extraordinary bit of programming that combines numerous systems and databases to insure the avoidance of erroneous pharmacy claims payments. Millions and millions of taxpayer dollars are absorbed in the management of insurance coverage claims that were generated in error and need to be chased down. This system is set up to avoid this "pay and chase" scenario.
